What is Included in the Insulation Inspection?

Insulation is critical to the cooling and heating efficiency of your home. Many materials have used for insulation, from newspaper and other cellulose-materials to fiberglass and mineral wool. Many newer insulation types provide a vapor barrier if installed properly. Your home inspection will identify if insulation is missing, identify the insulation type & material used in the crawlspace and attic, as well as the condition of the insulation in these areas & on the HVAC ducts.

Commonly found insulation defects:

Insulation inspection - improperly installed, falling down
- Improperly installed insulation on a new home

Insulation inspection - insulation missing, insufficient coverage over bedroom - brand new construction!
- Insulation missing (not installed) on an inspection of a new construction home

Insulation inspection - torn & missing duct insulation, allowing condensation to drip in crawlspace (pools forming)
- Damaged and loose insulation on HVAC ducts in the crawlspace
